anger’s family tree / LP

In 2023, Astrid entered a new collaboration with singer MARIS and cellist Jasmijn Lootens. This musical-literary project centered around the effects of power structures on the female body was fueled by their shared love of experimental music and improvisation. Together, they inhabit the void between poetry and music, presenting a brand new album entitled Anger’s Family Tree (W.E.R.F. Records) during a JazzLab Tour in 2024-2025.

Anger’s Family Tree is a multilingual world of poetry, songs, sounds, breath, snares, voices (failing, trying, finding). Maris, Jasmijn and Astrid went looking for language in music and musicality in language, with compositions based on translations of Oerhert by Egan Garr. The drawing on the cover is made by Merel van de casteele, graphic design by Pauline Scharmann. Mixing & producing by Maxime Steiner. There is a beautiful booklet with some poems in Dutch and English.
this record is sold out.
